About this blog

Who said celebs and God were incompatible ? Let’s face it. Spirituality is a fascinating subject, and people are getting hooked onto it increasingly through various forms and expressions everywhere, and that includes Hollywood.

We at God in Hollywood, are fascinated with anything to do with spirituality, the supernatural, the universe, and God…and how it relates to pop culture. We’re basically attempting to be a hot spot where pop culture and spirituality meet.

Anything to do with God and Hollywood including actors, actresses, singers, politicians, hot celebs, models, businessmen, reality TV, movies, artists of every kind, trendy newsmen, and even the news….we got it all covered !

Think of it as an entertaining way to discover spirituality and read about how it affects our world through the media, today’s pop culture and icons. (We know businessmen, politicians, the news and some others are not really part of “Hollywood”, we just use the word “Hollywood” because it globalizes well the famous and influential.)

We’ll simply report the spiritual news in here, but we’ll also take the news and put our spiritual spin on it.

We won’t use complicated words. We’ll just everyday language.

We’ll try hard to not be judgmental, critical, negative and biased.

BTW, we don’t make a dime from the blog and never intend to do so, our work is for simple pleasure and it’ll stay this way forever.

FAQ

1. Why did you not use the word “religion” in your little intro up there ?

Because we prefer the word ‘spirituality’. You decide why religion is sometimes a turn off to some people. We know this too well. (including us, not to say we don’t respect religions or are interested in studying and knowing more about them.)

2. Why did you decide to start this blog ?

Like I said, my team and I are fascinated by anything to do with spirituality and God. And Hollywood. We want to help people understand spirituality and understand why celebrities who have everything (fame, talent, money, connections etc) are turning to God.

3. What do you personally believe in ? (to the owner of the blog and most writers here)

I’m not going to say I have my own version of God and that I worship as I see fit, that I create my own reality. It’s a noble thing that many are trying to live but it doesn’t work for me. I’m going to say people have the responsibility to seek for themselves, including me.

Forcing beliefs on people is never good, even if the other party’s beliefs are right. It’s a personal issue. You have to live with yourself and your life (or mess, lol :) ) so YOU must decide for yourself.

This said, if you truly seek God and desire to be a true spiritual person, you’ll find out eventually, one day or another, that there is only one way. This may shock some but think of the movie the Matrix. There was only ONE guy who was meant to save humanity, there was ONE way out the war into freedom. (Neo’s making the right choice and sacrificing himself). As angry as the people trapped within the Matrix and the real world were, they did not control how things went. They learned along the way as they searched and searched, as they opened their minds and hearts to the truth. Personal choices are very important; and without choices we wouldn’t even be able to be ‘free’.

Inventing our own ‘spirituality’ is not a bad thing as long as it leads us to the truth eventually. If there’s a truth out there indeed, we would be foolish to not want it. And I don’t think anyone is foolish enough for that. Even with the truth, we’re still individuals, each of us uniquer so our spirituality will still be unique and personal under that one truth.

We’re a tiny speck in the universe, with all our knowledge and choices we think are the right ones, who truly makes the rules at the end of the day ? OK enough of my Matrix analogy, which I’m sure many will scream about and say “she’s promoting christian values.” I’m not promoting any religion, remember just God and spirituality. Most of Christianity today is a real turn off, although their pure core beliefs are not, if taken into the right context with the right, heart spirit and mind.

This said, I can’t reveal my true spiritual beliefs bc I don’t want to only attract one group of people. But if you keep reading the blog, you’ll discover soon enough but this doesn’t mean I’m judgmental, narrow minded or that I don’t have respect for other people’s beliefs and journeys to the truth. AND this also doesn’t make me a carbon copy of the rest of the people who believe similar as me in core things but practice it differently, and don’t have the same motivations and inclinations flowing from those core beliefs. At the end of the day, when you’ve experienced God’s love, you’ll never be the same.

Enjoy

5. Are you biased ?

No. I’ll try not to “shout” my own opinions but it’s going to be hard at times. My writers and I sometimes will have to give our opinions but when we do, we’ll make sure it’s respectful and comes from the heart. What you won’t get here is a judgmental, critical and negative attitude. That’s what some religious people do, but none of this here. We’re as open minded as it gets. Being spiritual shouldn’t make you narrow minded, if anything it should make you much more tolerant, compassionate and free to love and understand others.
